Temperature units
Type a value in any field and the other two units update.
Explore practical insights, technical resources, application guidance and expert knowledge to help you select, specify and configure reliable temperature sensing and high-temperature connection solutions.
Technical documents, working calculators for unit conversion, Platinum RTDs and thermocouples, and a reference table of thermocouple element compositions.
Results update as you type. The Calculate buttons run the same calculation.

Convert a temperature into the resistance of a Platinum RTD, with its tolerance.
Convert a sensing temperature into the voltage a thermocouple produces, referenced to 0 °C.
Cable supplied from outside Australia often uses a different colour coding system. Insulation colours identify the positive and negative conductors, so use this chart to tell existing cable from new and to connect each wire correctly. A wrong connection gives an incorrect temperature reading. Includes the current IEC colour codes.
Colour codes follow the ANSI MC96.1 and IEC 60584-3 standards. Confirm against your cable supplier’s data sheet before connecting.
Approximate composition of each conductor, in percent.
